THE FLOURISHING OF POLITICAL TRANSFORMATION IN FREEDOM SQUARE

What an awesome event! I wish I could have been there. Though chronic health problems made that impossible I was able to feel ‘almost there’ by immersing myself in the abundance of quality photographs, videos, tweets etc which, between them, must have covered every aspect of the rally to some extent or another. My sincere and heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone who contributed in any way at all towards making that historic Hope Over Fear Rally such an incredible success!

What follows is a digital montage of snapshots and video captures from Glasgow’s outstanding Hope Over Fear Rally. It’s almost a day out in itself so you may want to pack some sandwiches and a flask 🙂

Freedom Square Nothing can stop an idea who’s time has come. Saor Alba!

Hope Over Fear Rally @ileenemacGet the Tories OUT – Red and Blue. Two sides of the same Westminster coin. Two speeds of the same agenda. Scotland has had enough of you both. You’re fired.

Tommy Sheridan “The BBC? I’ve not seen them here!”

Not anti-English; anti-austerity!

What the whole Independence Referendum & GE 2015 campaigning trail has clearly shown is the monstrous degree of status-quo bias the British Brainwashing Corporation has rooted into its unrepentant core. BBC your cheating, biased shenanigans have unmasked you. We see you now for what you are. And that genie will NEVER go back in its bottle. ~ Gordon

  3. I am an American (from Mississippi) vacationing in Scotland to visit my boyfriend (who is Glaswegian). This is my first time out of the country, and I was lucky to be able to attend the Hope Over Fear rally. It was so inspiring to see how this country speaks out, and to see the diversity, although I felt a bit out of place being so far from home. Nonetheless, I felt right at home when one of the bands played “Jackson”, which I found so funny since I grew up only an hour away from the capital. I loved seeing the pictures, and I am now waiting to see what unfurls post-election. Saor Alba gu bràth!

Hello 🙂 I am always very appreciative and pleasantly surprised by how much support Scotland gets from the USA.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Post election time has been very busy and clearing a path for more posts has been rather difficult. On it tomorrow though 🙂

I’m a Glaswegian myself – exiled in sunny Aberdeenshire. Please give your boyfriend my regards.

Hope you have a great time in my home city.

    Saor Alba!

  5. The way I see it, the USA (especially the South) and Scotland are very similar, in regards to wanting freedom, equality, the basic human right to live your dream. I have seen many things here in regard to culture and equality that I hope my country will open its eyes to, while rallying alongside my boyfriend so that Scotland gets the freedoms my countrymen and women too often take for granted.
My boyfriend sends his thanks, and says “The dream will never die.”

One day – if we can manage to stop the power mongers from destroying everyone – all people, and all distinct cultural identities, will be free from being ruled by anyone, anywhere. The evolution of humanity and consciousness will take us there naturally given the chance. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. The dream will only die when it awakens into the bright sunlight of a real new day. Until then nothing will diminish it. Onwards and upwards!
